Accept, adapt and overcome…
Don Hall lives as independently as possible despite his disability, living 29 years as a T-5 Paraplegic. Don works as an Artis/Illustrator when he can. Don has had some other medical issues that have come up battling cancer the past two years. When he was told he needed to have surgery for yet another medical issue, he reached out for help.
An avid athlete, Don has enjoyed rowing, water skiing, and surfing on his own device (a sit down surf board) through Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital’s Adaptive Sports Program. He is a member of the Brooks Handcycling Competition Team and has twice qualified for grants, first for a racing style hand cycle and this year a training grant to be used specifically for handcycling. Through this experience he met JTTF Board Member Eric Mason.
It is through his friendship with Eric Mason that he was told about JTTF. We were able to help with expenses for domestic help for Don that his insurance would not cover. This allowed him to maintain his independent living while recovering from his surgery.
Don wishes to help JTTF once he is recovered to give back! His motto of Accept, Adapt and Overcome certainly fits our beliefs. Welcome to the JTTF family Don and we pray for a speed recovery.
