Aurora was born in November 2017 and we noticed something was up right away. At almost five months, Aurora was diagnosed with Craniosynostosis and had surgery less than two weeks later. Following the surgery, she has to wear a helmet for a year. Enters the social worker, who I mentioned the inability to pay for one helmet, let alone three, and she directed me to JT Townsend Foundation. In less than one day, I received a phone call from Miss Carmen, who is absolutely wonderful and caring. They paid for the first helmet for Miss Aurora and did so in a timely manner without causing me any stress over the situation at hand. What a spectacular foundation. They go above and beyond to ensure that they take care of those who need it! Words cannot express my gratitude.
Now, enjoy some visuals of my darling, Aurora, with her first helmet! Thank you so much, again, Carmen and the JT Townsend for your hard work and dedication to your community.

I am so grateful to the JT Townsend Foundation. One of our three children has special needs and needs a lot of extra time, attention, and therapies. At age seven, he had outgrown any kind of regular stroller but still needs one if we want to be able to go out as a family in large public spaces. I talked with Carmen at the Foundation and explained his need, and she explained how I could apply for one. We quickly had the miracle of a new special needs stroller being presented at my son's school. Wow! Carmen and this foundation are a huge blessing to our whole family. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I was referred to JT Townsend foundation by a therapist at Wolfson’s Rehabilitation. I had little faith that they would be able to help us, but I was reassured they were different. From the first conversation I had with Carmen at JT Townsend, I knew they were completely different. Carmen showed genuine interest in my son, Maddex and our situation. They didn’t immediately disqualify us because I had a ‘good’ job. Anyone with a child with special needs knows that even a good job and insurance only gets you so far. Maddex was born at 23 weeks and has cerebral palsy. He needs daily support and care to achieve his full potential. Our insurance covered the majority of the cost of his replacement wheelchair for school. However they would not cover the expense of a medical stroller. Maddex loves to be out and about but he is too big to carry very far for long. The wheelchair is great for the school bus, but it’s bulky and heavy for weekend use and social visits. The JT Townsend foundation donated us a medical stroller for Maddex. This has been such a blessing and has given us our weekends back! Maddex loves his new wheels and we love the ease of bringing him on new adventures.
